How to configure Email in Mac?

In this documentation, we can check how to configure email in Mac.

 

1) Login to Mac.

2) Go to Mail >> Preferences.

3) Click the icon ‘+’ from the section ‘Accounts’.

4) Select the option ‘Add other mail account’.

5) Enter the details and click the button ‘Next’.

6) Now we can set up incoming mail server. Select the account type ( POP or IMAP).

7) Enter the details and click the button ‘Next’.

8) Then you will be taken to another screen to confirm additional details.

9) Now we can set up outgoing mail server. Enter the details and click ‘Create’ button.

10) Once your account has been created, go to Mail >> Preferences >> Accounts >> Advanced.

Here we can choose the additional setup.

For outgoing mail server:

Outgoing server (SMTP): port 465 with SSL
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): should be checked

For incoming mail server:

IMAP:

Port: port 993 with SSL, or 143 without SSL
Use SSL: select it when applicable
Authentication: set to Password
POP3:
Port: port 995 with SSL, or 110 without SSL
Use SSL: select it when applicable
Authentication: set to Password
