Joomla is one of the most popular content management systems. It allows you to create a website or a blog without any technical or programming knowledge. Joomla also contains a set of options that you can update to modify your experience with content creation according your choice. One of those options is to update a default editor for your Joomla site. First of all, Let’s understand what is an editor in Content Management Systems like Joomla.
An editor is a huge input box with lots of options. Now, as there are many open-source editors available on the internet, Joomla allows you to set the one that you like. Also, this process does not require any technical knowledge. If you know the name of the editor you like, you can update the default editor in less than a minute. In this tutorial, I will show you how to update a default editor in Joomla.
Update Default Editor in Joomla
To Update a default editor, log in to the admin panel of your Joomla site and click on the System -> Global Configuration option from the main menu. See the following screenshot for reference.
On the Global Configuration page, make sure you are under the Site tab. In the Site tab, find a drop-down menu with the Default editor label. Click on the Drop-down menu to see a list of available editors and select the one you want to set as a default.
After selecting a default editor, click on the Save button given on the top-left corner of the page to save changes. It will instantly change the editor in your admin panel.
JCE is now the default editor for Joomla. To make sure everything is working correctly, open any article in edit mode.
