Menus matter a lot on any website as menus are responsible for letting users surf through the site or a blog with ease. Each and every Content Management System provides an interface to manage menus and menu items. It does not matter if you are using WordPress or Joomla, You will have an option to manage menus from the admin panel.

Just like WordPress, you can create multiple menus in Joomla and use them whenever you want. For example, you can create a menu for the upcoming festival and apply it when the time comes. You can also manage menu items with minute details. In this tutorial, I will show you How to manage menus in Joomla. So, let’s get started.

How to Manage Menus in Joomla

First of all, log in to the admin panel of your Joomla installation and click on the Menus -> Manage option from the top navigation bar. See the following screenshot for reference.

On this page, you will see a list of menus available on your site. To create a new menu, click on the New button given at the top-left corner of the page.

Enter the Menu details like Title, Type, and Description. Then click on the Save button to save the menu to database.

If you want to edit an existing menu, First select the menu you are willing to edit and then click on the Edit button given after the New button.

If you want to manage items in the menu, click on the Menu Items option. In that interface, you can individually manage each and every menu item. You can select the Menu for a Menu item you are creating or editing.

To delete a specific menu, select the menu you want to delete and then click on the Delete button given after the Edit button, Just like the following image.

So, this is how you can manage menus in Joomla. Management of Menu and menu items is a little bit different than WordPress, but at the base level, it is the same. The only difference is, You manage menu items with the menu in WordPress while in Joomla, You manage each menu item individually.
