It may be because you want to solve the bug in your system or you just don’t want to temporarily take new customers to improve the experience of current customers. Whatever the reason may be, you can update these settings directly from the admin panel of your content management system. In this tutorial, it is Joomla. So, Let’s see how to disable user registrations in Joomla based website.
Disable User Registration in Joomla
To disable new user registration, log in to the admin panel of your Joomla site and move your mouse on the Users option given in the top menu. It will show you a drop-down menu with detailed options. Click on the Manage link from the drop-down menu just like the following image.
In the Users section, you can manage your current users in Joomla. You can add new users, edit the current ones, bulk activate or block them and even manage user groups and access levels for your users. Now, click onthe Options button given on the top-right corner of the page to update registration settings in Joomla.
From this page, you can update all the user management settings. Click on the Component tab given on the page.
On this page, you will see a lots of switches and drop-down menus to update the user management settings. In this case, find a switch with label Allow User Registration and turn it off to disable user registration on your Joomla site.
